We know OCD can feel exhausting, confusing, and isolating. You’re not being dramatic, and you’re not alone, we’re here to help you heal.
You don’t have to manage OCD alone. Our team offers a thoughtful, science-backed approach to help you stop the cycle and rebuild your peace of mind.
We begin with a comprehensive virtual assessment to fully understand your symptoms, history, and how OCD is showing up in your life. We also rule out other conditions, like anxiety, PTSD, or ADHD, that can overlap with OCD.
Many patients benefit from SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors)—a class of antidepressants proven to reduce obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. Our providers will walk you through the options, help you monitor side effects, and adjust your dose as needed.
Though we focus on psychiatric care, we strongly recommend (and refer patients to) ERP-trained therapists. ERP is the gold-standard treatment for OCD, helping you face your fears gradually without performing rituals—breaking the obsession-compulsion loop.
Together, medication and ERP often lead to the greatest and most lasting symptom relief.
While the exact cause of OCD isn’t fully understood, it’s likely linked to a combination of factors:
Genetics: OCD often runs in families, though no single gene has been identified
Brain structure & chemistry: Differences in brain regions related to emotion and behavior regulation, especially involving serotonin
Temperament: Children with higher anxiety sensitivity or cautious temperaments may be at higher risk
Environment: Trauma, stress, or certain infections in childhood may trigger or worsen OCD symptoms
Regardless of the cause, OCD is not your fault—and it’s not something you just “snap out of.” It’s a treatable medical condition.
OCD looks different for everyone, but symptoms typically fall into one or more of these categories:
Fear of contamination (germs, dirt, illness)
Intrusive thoughts of harming yourself or others
Unwanted sexual, religious, or violent thoughts
Fear of losing control or making a mistake
Need for symmetry or exactness
Excessive handwashing, cleaning, or sanitizing
Repeatedly checking things (locks, stoves, switches)
Counting, tapping, or repeating phrases
Arranging objects until they feel “just right”
Mental rituals like praying, reviewing, or erasing thoughts
Compulsions may relieve anxiety in the short term—but they reinforce the obsession and keep the cycle going. That’s why breaking the pattern through treatment is essential.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition marked by:
Obsessions – Unwanted, intrusive thoughts, fears, or urges that create intense anxiety
Compulsions – Repetitive actions or mental rituals done to relieve that anxiety or prevent a feared outcome
These cycles can take over hours of your day, interfere with work and relationships, and make it difficult to function normally. OCD is not simply about being neat or perfectionistic—it’s a deeply disruptive condition that deserves serious care.
OCD often starts in childhood or early adulthood, but many people don’t seek help until years later. The good news? Treatment works—often better than people expect.
Living with OCD often feels like being trapped in your own mind—repeating thoughts, rituals, and routines just to feel okay. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. With the right treatment, you can regain control, reduce symptoms, and start living more freely. You can book online, text us, and meet your psychiatrist from the comfort of your home.
We help you take control of anxiety, depression, and overwhelm—so you can start feeling like yourself again.
