We know how difficult it is to reach out. That’s why we make it as easy, safe, and supportive as possible—so you can focus on healing.
At Proverbs Mental Health Services, we offer non-judgmental support focused on healing—not punishment. Our treatment plans are customized based on your goals, readiness, and needs.
Your journey starts with a thorough, confidential virtual assessment. We’ll discuss your substance use history, mental health symptoms, and life circumstances to build a complete picture of what’s going on.
Certain medications can reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, and stabilize brain chemistry—especially for opioid, alcohol, or nicotine use. Your provider will explain options and create a safe, effective medication plan if appropriate.
Recovery isn’t linear. That’s why we schedule regular follow-ups to adjust treatment as needed. You can also message your provider directly between visits for support or questions.
Optional Referral: We can refer you to therapists, detox centers, support groups, or inpatient programs if additional care is needed alongside our psychiatric services.
Substance use disorder is influenced by a range of biological, environmental, and psychological factors, including:
Genetics: A family history of addiction increases risk
Mental health: Conditions like depression, anxiety, or trauma often co-occur with substance use
Early use: Starting young—especially in adolescence—can alter brain development
Environment: Exposure to drugs, peer pressure, or unstable home life
Stress or trauma: Using substances as a way to cope or self-medicate emotional pain
The more we understand what’s driving your use, the better we can treat it.
Symptoms can look different from person to person, but common signs include:
Intense cravings for the substance
Inability to reduce or stop use
Ignoring responsibilities or relationships
Risky behavior while under the influence
Needing more of the substance over time (tolerance)
Experiencing withdrawal when not using
Feeling guilt, shame, or fear about your use—but continuing anyway
You don’t have to hit “rock bottom” to get help. If your substance use is affecting your health, relationships, or quality of life, you’re already at a point where support can make a difference.
Substance use disorder (SUD) is a medical condition where the use of drugs or alcohol becomes compulsive, difficult to control, and continues despite harmful consequences. It affects how the brain works, how decisions are made, and how emotions are processed.
People struggling with substance use often experience:
Loss of control over usage
Strong cravings or urges to use
Withdrawal symptoms when they try to stop
Escalating use (needing more to feel the same effects)
Strained relationships, declining health, or job loss
Addiction is not a character flaw. It’s a chronic but treatable brain disorder. And with the right support, people can recover and rebuild their lives.
Substance use disorder doesn’t mean you lack willpower it means you deserve support. Whether you’re dealing with alcohol, prescription drugs, or other substances, we’re here to help you take your life back. You can book online, text us, and meet your psychiatrist from the comfort of your home.
We help you take control of anxiety, depression, and overwhelm—so you can start feeling like yourself again.
